早在十七年前的2年，台湾收藏家曹兴诚在香港苏富比秋拍上以万港元的价格，拍下明嘉靖官窑青花五彩鱼藻纹大罐，这惊世一举使这件名瓷维持了4年的全球最贵瓷器身价，而后才被雍正粉彩九桃橄榄瓶打破，而在那一年，曹兴诚扬名全球拍卖界。

稀世大罐非凡之作Rarejarsareextraordinary

仔细观摩这件明嘉靖五彩鱼藻纹盖罐，通体以青花、红、黄、绿等色绘传统鱼藻纹。肩饰覆叶纹，近足处青花绘蕉叶纹，腹部以矾红彩绘八尾鲤鱼，辅以各式水草荷花。圈足内青花书“大明嘉靖年制”楷书款。盖周边一圈绘鱼藻纹，盖面饰璎珞八宝纹，上置火焰纹宝珠钮。其造型硕大，画风古拙，罐上鲤鱼姿态各异，以线条勾勒鱼鳞，以黑彩点睛，活灵活现，充分表达了鱼戏水草、悠然自得的意境。

值得一说的是，除本器之外，目前尚知另有三件带盖的嘉靖五彩鱼藻罐曾在拍卖市场出现。第一件与本器原为一对，同为胡惠春家族旧藏，年6月4日于纽约苏富比拍卖。

此外，嘉德还拍过不带盖的五彩鱼藻纹罐，当时成交价也达到了千万元以上。
